Später wurden Teppiche und Linoleum hochgerissen, wodurch schöne Eichenböden freigelegt wurden. Unsympathische Leuchten wurden entfernt. Fensterklimageräte und Markisen wurden abgeworfen und moderne Heizung und Klimaanlage unauffällig installiert. Upgrades wurden in Küche und Badezimmer vorgenommen.

Bald konnten Brown und Parsons, die begeisterte Antiquitätenhändler und Reisende sind, das Mittelalter mit einer Mischung aus schmiedeeisernen und Glimmerlampen, alten Antiquitäten und einigen Kunsthandwerksmöbeln der Bungalow-Ära "mittelalterlich machen". Die Zimmer sind entspannt, komfortabel und unprätentiös.
