Robinie ist hart bewaldet, wächst am besten in sonniger Lage und verträgt keinen Boden, der nicht sumpfig ist. Dieser robuste Baum ist eine Leguminose und wird 30 bis 40 Fuß hoch und breitet sich 20 bis 35 Fuß aus. Der Baum hat ein Wurzelsystem und bildet Dickichte, wenn er nicht kontrolliert wird. Robinie transplantiert gut, hat eine schnelle Wachstumsrate und wirft wenig Schatten. Die duftenden, weißen Blüten erscheinen nach den Blättern und sind in hängenden Trauben getragen.
