Das erste Symptom sind kleine braune Flecken auf den Blättern. Bei der Untersuchung können in den braunen Flecken sehr kleine schwarze Flecken zu sehen sein. Die Blätter fallen später im Sommer. Die Krankheit wird in feuchten Jahreszeiten schlimmer sein.
Basisches Kupfersulfat verhindert den Blatttropfen, ist jedoch etwas phytotoxisch und verursacht kleine Flecken auf den Blättern.
