Honeylocust wächst schnell auf 70 Fuß oder mehr. Die Art hat unerwünschte Dornen und große Samenhülsen, aber Kultivare sind sowohl dornenlos als auch kernlos. Der Baum ist stark bewaldet und wirft einen leichten Schatten. Rasen wächst gut unter dem Baum und es gibt wenig, um im Fall zu rechen.
